This Pollie Award season EpandMedia earned two awards made in conjuncture with D.C. based agency SKDKnickerbocker. Both ads can be heard here:
“Leader,” a radio ad produced in the Fall of 2014 for Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper was awarded a silver medal for “Independent Expenditure Campaign – Statewide.” Pollie Judges cited it as a: “Strong, effective ad. Music, voice over and script are all strong and effective. Memorable ad.” The goal of the ad was to remind the Colorado electorate that Governor Hickenlooper’s environmental and economic values are in sync with theirs. He came through for the state during the 2013 floods, and proved he can work across the aisle to get things done for Colorado. On election day the voters showed that Hickenlooper is the “Leader” for them.
“Independent Approach,” a radio ad produced in the Fall of 2014 for Maryland Congressman John Delaney, was awarded a bronze medal for “Best Use of Radio – U.S. House of Representatives.” Targeting the more rural Western Maryland constituency, this ad reminded voters of Delaney’s hard working start, growing up helping his union electrician father on jobs. The goal was to convince people that Delaney is a reliable, hard working and independent voice with new ideas for infrastructure and job creation. Not just another obstinate, ideologically extreme member of congress.
