Epandmedia produced the radio ad “Freedom” which, sponsored by Washington United for Marriage, aired in Washington State as part of a media campaign advocating the passage of Referendum 74 which would legalize same-sex marriage.
Working with SKDKnickerbocker New York’s Managing Director Jennifer Cunningham and VP Nicole Gill, creative director/producer Len Epand cast a typical husband and wife who discuss their happy marriage and the injustice of laws that would prevent loving same-sex couples from marrying and enjoying the same great experiences and rights that they enjoy. The ad appealed to conservative voters whom could relate to, and empathize with, this classic couple and their message of equality.
The Washington State same-sex marriage bill Referendum 74 passed by a 54%-46% margin and was signed into law December 6, 2012.
